Facilities

TMI fosters a campus-wide network that brings together multiple research and tenure-track faculty members, staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and students with diverse interests.

Computational Facilities

TMI computational research is supported by several CPU and GPU clusters. With the exception of our main cluster (“Owl’s Nest”), all computing clusters are in the the SERC data center on the seventh floor. The main cluster is housed in the University’s Joint Data Center. TMI researchers have preferred access to the computing infrastructure and staff members for both high performance computing and for high speed data/network.

Each student, faculty, and staff member has a powerful personal computing environment, including 4-16 core desktop machines with up to 64 GB RAMs and virtualization capabilities. All systems are connected to a fully-switched 10 Giga bps Ethernet with Fiber networks that extend to researcher workstations. All major general and scientific software programs are available as on-site and/or personal licenses.
